Importance of On-the-Job Training Refresher Courses

It’s crucial for all of us in the railroad industry to stay sharp with our safety regulations. Recently, I completed a refresher course on emergency protocols, and it really reinforced how quickly we need to react in certain situations. I’d love to hear how others are incorporating training into their routines to keep safety top of mind.

I totally agree about the importance of keeping safety fresh in our minds… I try to do a quick review of procedures before every shift — it really helps reinforce what we need to be ready for. Just the other day, I had a situation where that refresher made all the difference.

I’ve been doing a quick walk-through of emergency exits before each shift, just like checking the map before a road trip. It not only keeps the protocols fresh but also makes me feel more prepared. @chloe64, what do you think? Could adding some role-playing drills help too?

Absolutely, emergency protocols are key. I keep a safety checklist on my clipboard to double-check everything before starting my shift. It’s a small but helpful boost! :locomotive:.
