Improving Safety Protocols on the Rail Lines

We’ve noticed some inconsistencies in safety protocol adherence during recent operations. It’s critical that our teams are aligned and following the updated safety measures we implemented last quarter. I’d like to hear any strategies you’ve found effective for reinforcing these protocols among the crew.

In my experience, holding quick huddles before shifts really helps reinforce safety protocols. It only takes about 10 minutes, but it sets the tone and reminds everyone of what’s expected. Plus, it gives the crew a chance to ask questions and discuss any concerns.

One thing that really worked for us was implementing a buddy system during shifts. Having a partner to check in with on safety measures can make a big difference — especially right after those updates last quarter. Plus, quick huddles are great, but I think rotating who leads them keeps everyone engaged. @lindsey83, have you tried that?

I’ve found that rotating safety champions among the crew can be really effective. It empowers everyone to take ownership and keeps the focus on protocols fresh. What do you think about that approach, @hill30?
