When efficiency meets real life

Tried a new plan to cut dwell by staging the 06:30 crew at Track 7 with power idling and paperwork prepped — worked perfectly until the hogger “optimized” by locking his keys in the cab. Any other managers have a brilliant efficiency idea instantly defeated by one legendary human moment?

We started keeping a spare cab key in a combo lockbox inside the nose and keeping the code with the yardmaster — saved a 06:20 launch when our hogger did the same. If your rules hate hide-a-keys, stash the spare at the shanty and add a “keys check” line to the pre-stage brief — think that’d fly on your property?

At 06:30 on Track 7, add a ‘keys check’ to the job brief; @jdavis41’s lockbox works, but rotate codes.

Had the same comedy, so I put a Tile on the cab key and turned on the “left behind” alert; my phone chirps if I start walking off or if the key’s sitting in the cab without me, and it’s saved two launches. It stays within the rules as long as your device policy allows it, @ops_chief — worth a try: https://www.tile.com.
