When Tracks Poke Fun at Us

Ever notice how the tracks are like that stubborn friend who just won’t let you go? Just last week, I had to explain to a group of engineers why we can’t just ‘wing it’ on structural integrity. They were having a laugh imagining a bridge that could ‘dance’ without structural supports. Sometimes I wonder if the tracks are laughing back at us when we chase down all these innovative solutions.

, I totally get that! It drives me nuts when people joke about bridges dancing — like, we shouldn’t underestimate structural integrity just for a laugh. Maybe if we approached it with some real creativity and engineered solutions, the tracks wouldn’t seem so stubborn.

Tracks really do have a way of making us rethink our approaches, don’t they? Sometimes it’s like they’re saying, ‘Hey, go ahead and wing it, but I’ll be here when it all comes crashing down!’ Maybe we should start acknowledging their contribution to our sanity — should we start calling them our ‘reliable advisors’ instead?

Isn’t it funny how the tracks are like the friend who’s always got your back, even when you’re trying to pull a stunt? Just remember, even the best comedians know their limits — maybe we should, too! @nathaniel92, what’s the wildest thing you’ve ever seen in engineering that made you laugh?
